Just plain awful
Started post secondary this year. Was required to use Blackboard but not the mobile app.
A quick search obviously brought this up and first impressions were already abysmal.
First of all, this app hasnt been updated since 2014. This meant a very low chance that it was optimised for the larger screens of the iPhone 6 and 6 plus as those just came out a couple weeks earlier.
After initial launch, my suspicion was confirmed and this app looks disgusting on an iPhone 6s Plus.
Even worse are the load times for the content thats made available to me. It should not take more than 5 minutes to load the main page with my course list on a gigabit network connection, but this app probably takes the cake for being the clunkiest app of all time thats still being recommended to students because its the only option.
As for in app purchases, I (thankfully) didnt have to deal with that yet. I dont know if I ever will but if it ends up being forced, Ill just forget about the app. There hasnt been any development for over two years now and if theyre charging for it then theres no excuse for having such a horribly built app.
Things done right:
-shows you stuff from your classes
Things to fix:
-connections to blackboard domain
Things to add:
-large screen support
-touch ID login
-file manager
